A VOTE "YES" FOR A NEW CITY IS A VOTE "YES" FOR HIGHER TAXES.

With our award winning schools, Low tax rate, unparalleled parks, and thriving business community, Forsyth County is Georgia’s premier destination in which to live, work and raise a family.

Unfortunately, our way of life is at risk.

This legislative session, a bill has passed the Georgia House of Representatives and has moved to the Senate for approval. If approved, the bill would move Forsyth County closer to incorporating a new city.

This new city would include more than 28 percent of Forsyth County residents and occupy more than 15 percent of our county’s land area.

If approved, between $6 and $10 million of our hard-earned tax dollars will be funneled to a new layer of government complete with seven new council members, also known as politicians. Adding another unnecessary layer of bureaucracy puts homeowners and taxpayers at risk as Forsyth County attempts to bridge a financial gap.

The proposed City of Sharon Springs is an overreaching proposal with devastating consequences for schools, quality of life and taxes in all of Forsyth.

Forsyth County is strong and vibrant because of its citizens. Adding additional politicians and levels of government is the wrong direction.
